Royal Ascot - Private Boxes

A private Box at Ascot Racecourse enables you to savour the exhilarating atmosphere in style whilst enjoying superb cuisine, first class service and a spectacular view of the racing.

Ascot Racecourse has 255 private Boxes located on the upper levels of the Grandstand. All are positioned close to the track, some past the Winning Post with a head on view, others before the post so you can see the horses thunder past to the finish.

You can sub-let a box at Royal Ascot one of two ways - either by booking on a Box Hire basis then adding catering and beverages separately or (for some but not all boxes) booking on a Box Package, which includes food and drink as well as the box hire charge.

When you book a box on a Box Hire basis it includes:

Private hire of the box for the raceday
Full allocation of Grandstand Admission tickets, box badges and car park labels
Racecards
Racing papers
Betting facilities close to the box

Catering is obligatory and is arranged separately for box bookings by our on-site caterer, Ascot Hospitality. On receipt of the box payment your details will be passed to Ascot Hospitality who will send you a range of menus and wine lists, together with an order form for your catering requirements.

Please note that all catering must be provided by the official caterer, Ascot Hospitality.

When you book a box on a Royal Ascot Box Package basis it will be for a minimum number of guests (depending on the size of the box) and will include:

Private hire of the box
Grandstand Admission
One car park label per couple
Morning coffee and biscuits
Champagne reception with canapés
Four course luncheon
Selected fine wines
Port or brandy with coffee
Afternoon tea
Complimentary bar consisting of selected fine wines as well as the following drinks throughout the day; House champagne, Vodka, Gin, Whisky, Pimm's No. 1, Ruby Port, Brandy, Heineken, Fullers London Pride, Mixers, Orange Juice and Mineral Water will be available until 30 minutes after the last race
Betting facilities close to the box
Racecards
Racing papers
Floral arrangement

All Royal Ascot box sub-lets must be administered through Ascot Racecourse. Failure to do this will result in the licence of the box being revoked and any bookings made through unofficial channels will be deemed null and void.

During Royal Ascot there is a delineation at Concourse Level to accommodate a General Admission Concourse and a Royal Enclosure Concourse. Clients booking boxes at the west end of the stand (Boxes 201 – 215, 301-315, 401-412 and 501- 506) are required to comply with the Royal Enclosure dress code in order to access their box. Other box sublets are also encouraged to wear the Royal Enclosure dress code as they will then be able to transit through the Royal Enclosure areas in the Grandstand, whilst those in General Admission dress code will need to follow specific routes to move through the stand.

PLEASE NOTE; A Royal Enclosure badge will still be required to access areas in the Royal Enclosure Garden (in the Old Paddock) and the Royal Enclosure viewing and seats at the front of the stand and on Level 4.

A day at Royal Ascot is very special and dressing accordingly is an important part of the experience. The dress code set out below is designed to help racegoers to dress appropriately for the occasion.

ROYAL ENCLOSURE

Ladies
Ladies are kindly reminded that formal day wear is a requirement in the Royal Enclosure, defined as follows:

• Dresses and skirts should be of modest length defined as falling just above the knee or longer;

• Dresses and tops should have straps of one inch or greater;

• Jackets and pashminas may be worn but dresses and tops underneath should still comply with the Royal Enclosure dress code;

• Trouser suits are welcome. They should be of full length and of matching material and colour;

• Hats should be worn; a headpiece which has a base of 4 inches (10cm) or more in diameter is acceptable as an alternative to a hat.

Ladies are kindly asked to note the following:

• Strapless, off the shoulder, halter neck, spaghetti straps and dresses with a strap of less than one inch (2.5cm) are not permitted;

• Midriffs must be covered;

• Fascinators are no longer permitted in the Royal Enclosure; neither are headpieces which do not have a base covering a sufficient area of the head (4 inches / 10cm).

Gentlemen
Gentlemen are kindly reminded that it is a requirement to wear either black or grey morning dress which must include:

• A waistcoat and tie (no cravats); and

• A black or grey top hat; and

• Black shoes.

A gentleman may remove his top hat within a restaurant, a private box, a private club or that facility’s terrace, balcony or garden. Hats may also be removed within any enclosed external seating area within the Royal Enclosure Garden.

The customisation of top hats (with, for example, coloured ribbons or bands) is not permitted in the Royal Enclosure.

Children (admitted on Friday and Saturday only)
Girls (aged 10-16) should be dressed for a formal occasion. Smart summer dresses are suggested. Hats, headpieces or a fascinator may be worn but are not compulsory.

Boys (aged 10-16) should either dress in accordance with the gentlemen’s dress code (as set out above); or alternatively may wear a dark-coloured lounge suit with a shirt and tie (whereupon no hat is required).

Overseas Visitors
Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the formal National Dress of their country or Service Dress.

Serving Military Personnel
Serving military personnel are welcome to wear Service Dress or equivalent.

GRANDSTAND ADMISSION

Ladies
Ladies within the main Grandstand enclosure are encouraged to dress in a manner as befits a formal occasion.

Ladies are kindly asked to take particular note of the following:

• A hat, headpiece or fascinator should be worn at all times;

• Strapless or sheer strap dresses and tops are not permitted;

• Trousers must be full length and worn with a top that adheres to the guidelines above (i.e. strapless or sheer strap tops are not permitted);

• Jackets and pashminas may be worn but dresses and tops underneath should still comply with the Grandstand Admission dress code;

• Midriffs must be covered;

• Shorts are not permitted.

Gentlemen
Gentlemen are required to wear a suit with a shirt and tie.

Children
Girls (17 or under) should be dressed for a formal occasion. Smart summer dresses are suggested. Hats, headpieces or a fascinator may be worn but are not compulsory.

Boys aged (13-17) should wear a suit or jacket with a shirt and a tie. Younger boys (12 or under) should be dressed smartly but are not required to wear a jacket or tie.
